I couldn't have said this better myself! This year has been full of challenges and some failures. I've learned a lot of what I DON'T want to do going forward, 😆 and that's JUST as important! ❤️

I’m in my 9th season as a first-generation farmer who started with a wild dream, a ridiculous amount of fear AND optimism.

Here's what I wish I had known 9 years ago...

❤️Failure is your new Best Friend
She will be your constant companion, so you might as well cozy up to her instead of wishing she would go away. Trust me, she has SO MUCH wisdom to share with you. Her lessons are pure gold, and someday, you will be grateful for her lessons.

🤷It doesn't get easier (and that's okay!)
Spoiler Alert: There is no “Easy Button”. But here's the thing: you didn't sign up for easy, did you? Easy is boring, and you're here for the adventure! You will never, ever be bored again. Ha! Just when you think you've mastered one thing, more problems will pop up. And that is 100% NORMAL. You will never, ever outgrow problems. Stop thinking it should be easy and that problems are a “problem”. They’re not. “Problem Solver” is the job description of a business owner.

🎯 Less is more (seriously!)
In the beginning, you'll want to try EVERYTHING - every product, every method, every opportunity.
That's normal! But eventually, you'll need to choose what lights you up and let the rest go.
People LOVE to tell you what you should do. Ha!
But here’s the thing - trying to be everything to everyone WILL burn you out. 😵‍💫
This work is too demanding to waste energy on things that don't bring you joy.
Learn to love constraint.

🙈 Put your blinders on and run your own race
Comparison will kill your dream before it even has a chance to launch. Stop looking around at what everyone else is doing. You do you, and let them do them. This is YOUR journey, not theirs. Do whatever you need to do to avoid comparison. Set up boundaries and guardrails to protect your mental health.

⏰ Honor your timeline
A $1,000 startup biz grows at a different pace than a $50,000 startup biz. This is a simple acceptance of reality and math. Do NOT compare your Chapter 2 to their Chapter 20! You have no idea what their early years looked like (pssst... They were messy and chaotic, just like yours 😂❤️).
