📢 Important Update from Plattsburgh International Airport

We understand there have been questions about an emergency landing that took place earlier this evening.

✈️ The aircraft was safely diverted to Plattsburgh due to weather conditions and needed to refuel before continuing its journey to Maine.

✅ We’re happy to report that the plane landed without incident, all passengers are safe, and the situation is fully under control.

ICYMI: The shoes-off rule at TSA checkpoints is coming to an end.
Homeland Security Secretary announced a new policy that will allow passengers to keep their shoes on while going through security screening at domestic airports — including right here at PBG.

This change is designed to speed up the screening process and make travel more convenient, all while maintaining top-tier security standards.

ICYMI: Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced a new policy yesterday which will allow passengers traveling through domestic airports to keep their shoes on while passing through security screening at TSA checkpoints.

“Ending the ‘Shoes-Off’ policy is the latest effort DHS is implementing to modernize and enhance traveler experience across our nation’s airports,” said Secretary Noem. “We expect this change will drastically decrease passenger wait times at our TSA checkpoints, leading to a more pleasant and efficient passenger experience. As always, security remains our top priority. Thanks to our cutting-edge technological advancements and multi-layered security approach, we are confident we can implement this change while maintaining the highest security standards. This initiative is just one of many the Trump administration is pursuing to usher in the President’s vision for a new Golden Age of American travel.”

WOW—look what landed at PBG yesterday!
The legendary Goodyear Blimp made a stop here yesterday, and it was incredible to see it up close. This isn’t just any aircraft—it’s part of Goodyear’s elite fleet of semi-rigid airships (technically dirigibles, but we all call them blimps) that have been floating over major events since the 1920s.
We’d love to hear—did you catch a sight of it? What a treat for Plattsburgh! 😊

🚨 THIS IS ONLY A DRILL 🚨

On Saturday, May 31 from 8AM–12PM, Plattsburgh International Airport will be conducting a full-scale emergency exercise.

Local Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement agencies will be onsite participating in a realistic emergency simulation. If you're in the area near the airport or Arizona Avenue during that time, you’ll likely see emergency vehicles and personnel—don’t worry, it’s just a drill!

This important training helps ensure our airport and first responders are ready to act quickly and effectively in a real emergency.
