🌴✨ Discovering Biak, Indonesia 🇮🇩 — Between Sea, Culture & Smiles

Sailed into Biak not knowing what to expect — and found an island bursting with history, color, and kindness. 💛

Dived the Catalina wreck, drifted through clouds of fish, and spotted tiny treasures — nudibranchs, nature’s little jewels. 🤿🐠

On land, I joined Nirmala Dive Resort exploring the Old Cemetery in Padwa and a cave said to hold ancient spirits. The island’s stories still echo through coral limestone and rainforest. 🌿✨

We were treated to a vibrant cultural show — music, dance, carving, and laughter. Every beat of the drum and every smile overflowed with pride and joy. 🪘🎶

Shared Papuan food at The Hanger and even snuck in a spa day (hair, nails & pedicure) — because hey, even a salty sailor needs pampering sometimes! 💆‍♀️🌺

Once a WWII base, Biak is now an island of smiles, turquoise waters, and deep roots.
Sailed out on the 15th — grateful, recharged, and inspired. ⚓️

💙 There are moments at sea that stay with you forever — when the ocean feels alive, when time stands still, and when you realize you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. 🌕🐬🐋

I was escorted into Ninigo Atoll by a joyful pod of dolphins — a beautiful omen for the 60 nm passage from the Hermit Islands.
The Ninigo locals’ smiles were as warm as the turquoise waters, and I even managed a little snorkeling in paradise before lifting anchor again.
My time there was short but special — simple, kind, and full of that quiet island magic that touches the heart.

On October 6, I set sail again — 545 nautical miles from Ninigo Atoll to Biak, Indonesia.
Not long after leaving, the ocean gifted me something truly extraordinary — two blue whales surfaced side-by-side on my starboard side, their tall, misty blows rising into the morning light.
They glided gracefully beside ProfAsea before fading back into the deep.
To witness such gentle giants in the open ocean felt sacred — humbling and deeply moving.

The passage that followed was raw and beautiful — four days and four nights under a glowing full moon, squalls and heavy rain sweeping through, strong currents carrying me onward… and even a massive palm branch caught beneath the hull (a little reminder from the sea to slow down and smile).

After 4 days and 4 hours, I dropped anchor in Biak — salty, grateful, and full of wonder.
The dolphins, the whales, the storms, the moonlit calm — each moment a reminder that this journey is more than miles.
It’s connection.
It’s surrender.
It’s life itself. 🌊💫

⚓️ Solo sailing — unpredictable, humbling, and profoundly magical.

From turquoise resort bays to wild black sand beaches, I sailed through the heart of Vanuatu — one anchorage at a time.🌴 Village laughter + resort calm. Smiles that stayed with me. Every mile, pure island magic.📍Want to follow the voyage live — and for free?
