Mayflower should set sail any day now. This is always such a spectacular event.
Work on Mayflower II continues as the Museumβs Maritime Preservation and Operations team prepares her for her transit journey home to Plymouth after having undergone routine maintenance during the winter at Mystic Seaport Museum. Recently, the crew worked to uprig the ship (put all her spars, blocks, and rigging back on the ship and in the sky). Here, Maritime Artisan, Sam Allen, climbs out of the main bowl and down the port futtock shrouds, as we prepared to send up the main topmast.
Mayflower II is expected to begin her journey back to the State Pier in Plymouth, Massachusetts, on or about April 9th, 10th, or 11th. Stay tuned for updates!
