The arch at Sea Lion Island. We explore the rocks and islands of the Stornetta Public Lands on our Explore kayak tour and our Coves and Caves Kayak tour. In the water we experience the park in a unique way and get up close and personal with rock formation and marine life.

Hold on tight it's a big one! You can't beat catching a big fish in a kayak. Our guides don't mess around, they bring you to the best spots to get fish. When the fish are really biting we can start to catch them just a couple minutes into the tour.

Sustainability is a core value of North Pacific Adventure and we like to let the big ones go, after we take a photo of course. Larger rockfish can produce up to half a million eggs while smaller ones produce slicer to 50,000 eggs. The math is simple. large fish make more babies and more babies equals more fish in the future! This fisherman agreed that this big cabezone should be let go so it has a chance to spawn.

It's a rewarding feeling when you kayak past the pier and all the people fishing from it see how many fish you caught and how big they were. Not to mention, it’s just fun kayaking around the pier and seeing the cove from a different perspective.

Friday Fun Fact: Bull Kelp can grow up to 10 inches per day.

When the wind is blowing you around on the coast and you're starting to get sick of it, remember the ocean needs the wind in spring in order to have healthy kelp forests throughout summer. The wind drives the ocean currents and in turn the currents bring vital nutrients from the deep ocean up to the surface where the kelp forest can harness those nutrients and thrive.

A gentle breeze blowing across the water can make for some amazing sights while kayaking in Arena Cove. The gentile mist clinging to the cliff is one of our favorites and can appear and disappear in the blink of an eye.

It's time to go fishing! The whales and salmon are here. The first five people to sign up online for fishing trips using the Promo code FishingTime and book dates between July 24th and August 31st get 15% off! On our last fishing trip we caught salmon, lingcod, cabezon and many other rockfish. The whales were around us all day putting on an excellent show. In the photo here you can see us hooked up on a 20lb salmon and a gray whale diving in the background, we landed the salmon and it is in the second photo! Photos are included with every trip.

On Wednesday 6/16 from noon to sunset we’ll be down at Arena Cove with letters for everyone to sign and send to city council asking them to stop the parking lot project and implement a new restoration plan. Please come show your support or message me for a digital copy of a letter for you to email.
The photo shows how the creek naturally flows into the rocks and is forced to flow around. Every boulder added makes this worse. Let’s restore our wild beauty!
