Meet the newest addition to our family...Klondike!

Last year, we lost one of our beloved cats, and it left a huge hole in our hearts — and in Rufus’s, too. None of us were quite the same after. We didn’t plan on adopting again so soon… but then we saw Klondike’s story through Ks Kitten Rescue in Ocean County, and something just clicked. His sweet face, his resilience — we knew he was meant to be with us.

Fast forward to today, and Klondike is thriving! He’s still working through a few tummy issues, but our vet assures us he’s doing well and will grow out of it.

He’s such a cuddlebug — he snuggles with us every night (under the blanket, of course), and still plays fetch like a little puppy. He has two stuffed animals that he carries around the house to snuggle or “hunt,” and his favorite is the monkey — featured in both pics!

The best part? He and Rufus are best friends. They wrestle, chase, groom, and nap together — and Rufus, who had been a bit withdrawn after our loss, is full of life again. Klondike brought joy back into our home.

Thank you for completing our family again.

If you're thinking about adding a furry friend to your life, please consider adoption — it truly changes lives, theirs and yours. Check out Ks Kitten Rescue (kskittenrescue.org) to see who’s waiting for their forever home.

Our sweet girl, Sammy, is going through a really tough time right now. Over the past few days, she’s had difficulty walking, using the bathroom, and has been letting out some heartbreaking meows. We took her to the animal hospital yesterday, where we learned she’s dehydrated and “backed up,” plus she’s lost a pound in the last month. She’s now staying at the hospital for a few days so they can take good care of her.

Thankfully, there are no blockages, but they’ve diagnosed her with chronic kidney disease and arthritis. It's a lot for her little body to handle. She’s been getting fluids, medication, and had an ultrasound and X-rays. She’s eating, which is a good sign, but the pain meds earlier made her temperature drop, so they’ve been keeping a close eye on her.

We visited her tonight, and she was snuggled in a towel on a heating pad, looking pretty out of it, but I know she was happy to see us. We’re grateful that JJ was able to come with us too.

It’s going to be a tough few days, but we’re staying hopeful and keeping our fingers crossed for our brave Sammy. 💜
