One of my favorite spots...the front door leads to this area---tamarack wood paneling (harvested and milled on the island), a church pew I sat on a million times as a kid at Prairie Grove Baptist Church (Columbia, MO), a map (gift from Norma Fraser) and endless shoes, headlamps, beach shoes/towels, bug spray, bags, sunglasses.....just need to add a cool drink and head to the beach.

Makes me want to start making plans for 2015....

Our trip starts in Cheybogan, Michigan at Plaunt Transportation. Down the river and into Lake Huron -- off to an island that many people don't know about. Much less know how to pronounce.

It's always hard to close up the lodge for the season and say good-bye to this beautiful island. Thank you ALL who came to visit and left your mark on Sweetwater Lodge. We look forward to the 2015 season and appreciate folks who have already contacted us about making a reservation. Here's to a safe and healthy time for all, until we meet again.
