For years, Herbal Sage and United Plant Savers have shared more than a love for plants. They’ve shared knowledge, community, stewardship, and a belief that caring for the plants around us means caring for the places and people connected to them.

From tea and teaching, to the Brickhouse and beyond, we’re grateful for all the ways these roots have intertwined over the years.

She didn’t set out to become “The Tea Lady.” She just kept following what called to her. Herbs, healing, the land, community, and the kind of work that brings people back to themselves✨

After a fire changed the course of her life in the early ’90s, Maureen began studying herbs. That curiosity grew into Herbal Sage Tea Company and eventually a life rooted in Meigs County, hand blended teas, herbal education, conservation, and more than 30 years of stories worth telling.

There’s so much history here, but what stands out most is the heart behind it all. Caring for the land, sharing knowledge, supporting community, and making really good tea along the way.

So consider this your introduction to Maureen, The Tea Lady, and the beginning of a whole lot more from the Herbal Sage archives🍃
