Yay! Now I can't wait for the announcement about when they will blow up the old bridge. I want to watch that!

The Ship Channel Improvement Project, which took seven years to complete, has deepened the channel from 47 to 54 feet for approximately 30 miles. The channel was also widened from 400 to 530 feet.

It says that the new Harbor Bay Bridge in Corpus Christi is scheduled to open on May 10. I remember them starting on this project when my boat was in Corpus after hurricane Harvey chased me out of Port Aransas in 2017. 

I knew a someone who worked on the project (in a management capacity) early on, so I think I’m going let a few hundred thousand vehicles use that bridge before I give it a try. Maybe some big winds too.

It sure is a pretty bridge. And I heard it has a bike lane!  I hope they don’t let golf carts on it, haha.

No plans on being anywhere near the bridge during the ribbon-cutting, but when they first started building this bridge, they said that when they were finished, they were going to blow up the old bridge. I surely would like to be here for that!
