The competition was part of Port A Surf Fest, which also involved a surfing contest for human beings. The whole thing was put on by the Port Aransas Preservation and Historical
Association.
Everyone is welcome to an after party and awards ceremony to take place after the surfing. Contestants will receive free meal and two drink tickets. All other attendees can purchase a
wristband for $20.
The event will include a fish fry, live music and a street dance from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Surfside Lounge, 345 N. Alister St., here in Port Aransas.
