We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Deli Cook Cashier to join our team. This dual-role position involves preparing high-quality deli food items while also providing excellent service at the cash register. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong multitasking skills, a passion for food preparation, and a friendly demeanor to enhance the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare deli menu items, including sandwiches, salads, hot foods, and special orders, following recipes and food safety standards.
* Operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, ovens, grills, and fryers safely and efficiently.
* Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, adhering to sanitation and hygiene regulations.
* Greet customers, take orders, and process transactions accurately using a POS (Point of Sale) system.
* Handle cash, credit, and digital payments while ensuring proper change is given.
* Assist with restocking deli supplies, ingredients, and front counter items as needed.
* Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, offering recommendations, and resolving concerns.
* Monitor food inventory and communicate shortages or special requests to the supervisor.
* Follow all company policies, including dress code, attendance, and safety protocols.
* Must be 21 years of age or older due to handling age-restricted sales.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in food preparation or cashiering preferred.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and measurements in food prep.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members.
* Knowledge of food safety practices.
* Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
* Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
* Competitive hourly pay ($17-$20/hour, based on experience)
