Unfortunately i was counting my money to soon These 3 trout I caught practicing for the legends tournament last Tuesday were over 24lbs. Mother nature tossed us a curve ball and raised the water level well over a foot to make where these fish were caught unfishable and dirty. I Didn’t handle the rising water well and didn’t catch a 3lb+ trout to weigh day one. I did manage a 7lb + redfish. Day 2 was too little too late with 18lbs for the team. Our team ended the year 11 out of nearly 40 teams who fished all three and I had a 22 overall of the nearly 120 anglers. This was my first year putting on the waders and jumping in so I have some learning to do. Next year will start with a whole lot more knowledge. Congrats to all the winners of the Saltwater legends series. They are definitely some strong competition. And thanks to Forrest and Bryan for giving it hell for three events.

I am branching out my guide business to also hunting. I have acquired two neighboring ranches in New Mexico totaling approximately 90k acres where I will be guiding for pronghorn antelope, Elk, Mule deer and Gemsbok oryx. Both ranchers have called this week and said they’ve had sightings of big oryx so if anyone is interested in chasing after free range gemsbok oryx call me for details. I’m trying to get two hunters together for a hunt. Gemsbok are beautiful animals and excellent table fair. Give me a call. 210-414-4843 if interested.
