What a Tarpon season it was this year. Here are the numbers for this summer. 2-2,0-2,2-2,1-3,0-3,2-2,4-5,4-6,1-1,3-6,2-6,2-2,3-3,14-17,7-10,8-9,19-28,4-6,4-7,7-9,0-1,9-9,6-6,6-10,0-2,0-0,3-3,4-5,4-4,1-2,2-4,1-2,6-6,22-30,4-6,0-0,4-4,9-9,4-5,1-2,2-3, and ending yesterday a perfect 6 for 6. That’s 183 Tarpon landed out of 249 tarpon hooked up and at least jumped. The crew of Ky Martin landed the winning number of 22 in one day and local crew of Johnny, Howard and Mark landing 19-28 with definitely the most combined weight. Several trips ended early as they caught a few big girls and thru up the white flag. 6 trips didn’t land a tarpon and 2 of those trips never jumped a tarpon. Hopefully they’ll give me another chance in 2026. We had several fish in the 175-200lb range. I would like to thank everyone who took part in this tarpon season and hopefully will come again. If you took part in this season please post some of your photos in the comments for everyone to see. Off to the hunting grounds of New Mexico until late October before it’s back in POC. Booking for late October and November and December for fishing trips. Best three months to fill the freezer or just catch lots of fish.
