March 1st is here! It's the official start of nesting season in southeast Florida! There are many ways that you can help threatened and endangered sea turtles every day. Here are few ways you can keep our beaches safe for nesting turtles!

Our team has been finding an unprecedented number of balloons during our recent morning beach walks. Sea turtles commonly mistake balloons and plastic bags for food which causes them to have intestinal blockage which leads to a slow and agonizing death. Animals can also be entangled in the strings. We discourage the use of balloons altogether, but if you do use them in your celebrations, please discard of them properly and don’t release them. We appreciate your support in being good environmental stewards!
