Spring Break time is here. We know kiddos like to dig holes. We get it, we did it too! But please be mindful of the dangers that can result from not filling them in. Turtle season begins in a few short months, but it isn’t just dangerous for them. Injuries can happen to people, and damage can occur to our patrol vehicle, as well as Law Enforcement and County vehicles. We appreciate everyone taking the time to fill in any holes you dig, or come across!

Back by popular demand, the shell pile is opening again to the public on Friday June 27th and Saturday June 28th from 9 am to 2 pm at the Mexico Beach boat ramp. Each person is limited to one 5-gallon bucket, and you must sign a waiver form. There is little to no shade at the location, so bring an umbrella, or a hat, sunscreen and something to keep you hydrated. For safety reason we ask that you wear closed toe shoes and gloves, or a small shovel/rake may be helpful. This is your last opportunity to search for that perfect shell for your collection.
