๐ด๐น Margaritaville at Sea Paradise Review: Did It Exceed Our Expectations? Absolutely! ๐น๐ด
Last weekend, Eric and I finally had the opportunity to experience the 3-night sailing aboard the Paradise from West Palm Beach under Margaritaville at Sea's Heroes Sail Free programโand honestly, we came away impressed.
For just over $1,000 total, we enjoyed an Oceanview Cabin, upgraded dining at JWB Prime Steakhouse, Wi-Fi, and the Ultimate Beverage Package. Parking at the Port of Palm Beach was only $76 (credit card only), incredibly convenient, and just a short walk to the terminal.
๐ข Embarkation was a breeze.
From parking the car to stepping aboard took less than 30 minutes. Despite hearing the ship was sailing at capacity, it never felt crowded. By 12:30 PM, I had a "5 O'Clock Somewhere" margarita in hand and a Cheeseburger in Paradise on my plate.
The adults-only aft pool quickly became one of our favorite spots. While cabins weren't guaranteed until 2:45 PM, ours was ready by 1:15 PM.
๐ก Cabin Review
Our Oceanview stateroom was comfortable, clean, and perfectly adequate for a long weekend getaway. The only real challenge? The tiny circular shower with a curtain that seems determined to become your closest friend every time you shower! ๐
The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and a huge shoutout to Sandi from Indonesia, our wonderful cabin steward, who had extra pillows delivered before dinner.
๐ฅฉ JWB Prime Steakhouse
One of the best surprises of the trip was learning that on embarkation night only, all bottled wines are 50% off when dining at JWB Prime Steakhouse.
We stocked up immediately!
๐พ il Fresco Prosecco (for morning mimosas)
๐ท 13 Celsius Sauvignon Blanc x2
๐ท Pinot Noir for dinner
The staff will hold your bottles throughout the cruise and bring them out whenever you'd like.
Dinner was outstanding.
Eric enjoyed the Filet Mignon.
I chose the Lamb Chops.
We shared Creamed Spinach and Broccolini and still couldn't finish everything. The Apple Crumble Cheesecake and Key Lime Pie ended up becoming breakfast the next morning... paired with mimosas, of course. No regrets.
๐ญ Entertainment
The opening production, Radio Margaritaville Live at Sea, was fantastic. Live music, dancers, acrobatics, aerial silks, and high-energy performances immediately put everyone in vacation mode.
The production quality throughout the sailing honestly exceeded what I expected from a short weekend cruise.
๐ฒ Casino Notes
The casino was probably the one area that surprised me.
While the ship was full of birthday celebrations, bachelorette groups, and people enjoying themselves throughout the vessel, the casino remained relatively quiet. The craps table often closed early, and I never found a Texas Hold'em game against the dealer.
I didn't win a single dollar...
But I DID win a Margaritaville coffee mug during the Duty Free raffle, so we'll call that a victory. ๐
๐ Sea Day Fun
Day 2 ended up being one of the most enjoyable parts of the trip.
Somehow, we brought the only inflatable football on the ship and quickly became known as "the football couple."
Hours were spent at the adults pool tossing the football, meeting new friends, and enjoying conversations with guests from Florida, Georgia, Chicago, and even Brazil.
It's amazing how quickly cruise friendships happen.
๐ฅ Hidden Gem: Hemisphere Dancer Craft Spirits
While waiting for dinner at Fins Dining, our new friends introduced us to Hemisphere Dancer Craft Spirits, Margaritaville at Sea's bourbon and cocktail bar.
Think:
๐ฅ Smoke-infused Old Fashioneds
๐ธ Handcrafted cocktails
๐ต Cozy atmosphere
๐ Talented bartenders
If you visit, allow extra time. Every drink is individually crafted and worth the wait.
๐ Comedy & White Hot Neon Night
Rich Purpura's adults-only Comedy & Magic Show was hilarious.
With more than 30 years of cruise ship experience, his mix of sleight-of-hand, audience participation, and adult humor had the theater laughing from beginning to end.
Make sure to bring your best crisp-white outfit for a signature neon-infused dance party! Glow sticks and light up shoes, bring it on!
๐ Nassau Day
Since we've visited Nassau dozens of times, we opted for a relaxed day of shopping and Bahamian food! The Island Post had amazing conch fritters, jerk chicken skewers, mango habanero wings, and conch bites!
We visited Bahari Bahamas and wandered the port shops before taking advantage of the onboard retail discounts later that evening. We came home with:
๐ T-shirts
๐งฒ Magnets and local art
๐ A branded Margaritaville polo
๐ A matching dress and shirt set
Not bad for a quick getaway.
๐ถ Caribbean Heat
The final evening featured Caribbean Heat, a lively production packed with music from Rihanna, Pitbull, Bob Marley, and more.
Great singers.
Great dancers.
Great acrobatics.
A perfect ending to a relaxing, sun-filled, music-forward weekend.
โญ The Verdict
Would we sail Paradise again? Absolutely.
For first-time cruisers, military families, couples looking for a quick getaway, girls' weekends, birthday celebrations, or anyone wanting an affordable cruise experience without flying to another port, this sailing delivered far more than we expected.
We're also excited about the upcoming Beachcomber, Margaritaville at Sea's newest ship, which will feature:
๐ Expanded pool and resort-style deck areas
๐ข Family-friendly water attractions
๐ฝ Additional specialty dining venues
๐ญ More entertainment options
๐ก Newer stateroom designs
โจ Enhanced guest amenities throughout the ship
๐ด One final surprise?
The easiest disembarkation we've ever experienced. We've cruised quite a bit, and usually the last morning involves long lines, crowds, and waiting. Not this time. From the moment we left our cabin until we were in our truck heading home was remarkably quick and efficient. It was the perfect ending to a relaxing weekend and another reason we'd happily sail Paradise again.
If you've been curious about Margaritaville at Sea, feel free to reach out. We'd be happy to answer questions about our experience.
