Take the FREE Bus to the Beach!

Looking for an easy (and free!) way to explore Port Townsend this summer? Thanks to Jefferson Transit Authority, visitors and locals can enjoy free rides to some of the area's favorite outdoor destinations.

North Beach – Hop on Route 3 and enjoy one of Port Townsend's most scenic stretches of shoreline.

Fort Worden State Park – Ride Route 2 straight to Fort Worden and spend the day exploring beaches, trails, historic bunkers, and waterfront views.

Pope Marine Park – Take the 11 Shuttle for easy access to the downtown waterfront, shoreline strolls, and picnic-perfect views.
The best part? Jefferson Transit is fare-free, making it easy to leave the car behind and spend more time enjoying the outdoors.

The Brass Screw Consortium Steampunk Festival returns to Port Townsend June 12–14, bringing a weekend packed with imagination, adventure, and wonderfully weird fun.

Expect a sword-swallowing magician and his Traveling Spectacular, the buboes-curing Necrofessor, award-winning bands including Blue Moon Marquee from Canada, burlesque and variety performances, the Bazaar of the Bizarre vendor park, green fairies and an absinthe tent, Nerf wars, Morris dancers, the Scuppermonkeys, an adult treasure hunt, the fantastical fashion show, and plenty more surprises around every corner.

⛵Race to Alaska Weekend Kicks Off in Port Townsend

The Race to Alaska is one of the most unique endurance races in the world—a 750-mile, engine-free adventure from Port Townsend to Ketchikan, Alaska. Before the racers set off, join the fun at the Northwest Maritime Campus for an evening celebrating this legendary event.

Join the Production Alliance on Saturday, June 6, from 12–5 PM at Pope Marine Park for Port Townsend Pride 2026—a vibrant waterfront celebration of community, creativity, and belonging.
Enjoy live music and performances, a colorful Pride Boat Parade, local artists and vendors, family-friendly activities, and plenty of opportunities to connect and celebrate in one of Washington’s most scenic coastal towns.

With 65+ community booths, a Kid & Sensory Zone, food, art, and entertainment throughout the day, there's something for everyone. Admission is by donation, and all are welcome.

Late spring in Port Townsend just hits different ☀️

⚠️ Travel Advisory: Hood Canal Bridge Overnight Closures

Planning a trip to or from Port Townsend? Be sure to plan ahead—overnight closures are scheduled for the SR 104 Hood Canal Bridge in May.

🕙 Closed 10 PM – 5 AM on the following dates:
• May 11–14
• May 18–21
• May 26–28

During these times, the bridge will be fully closed to all traffic while crews complete important maintenance work. No vehicles—including emergency response—will be able to cross.

Closures are weather-dependent, so check conditions before you travel. Thanks for planning ahead and traveling safely!
