I just returned from my personal vacation at East Winds Resort in St Lucia. What a lovely little boutique all inclusive. It was our third stay, and each is as good as the last.
Our cottage in the gardens was quiet, with a private porch perfect for morning coffee with the birds. The sunken open air shower is simply the best. There are also slightly larger cottages closer to the pool and beach (still tucked into the lush gardens), and beachfront rooms and one suite.
The small garden pool is quiet and features a help yourself bar. Relax with nothing but the sounds of hundreds of native birds.
Food and wine is exceptional. While there is just the one restaurant. There is a different menu every lunch and dinner. As well as expertly paired wines. Staff is the best anywhere. Because the resort is small, they know you and take the time to interact. Most lunches, and every dinner has some sort of musical background entertainment. No shouting when conversing with your honey. And there’s never a worry about having a table, as there is one for every room on resort. Plus you can opt to eat in one of the garden dining cabanas for some extra romance at no charge!
Same goes with beach chairs and palapas. Refreshing to go to the beach at your leisure knowing there will still be a place for you. At the beach, whether day or sunset, your serenity isn’t drowned out by loud music. It’s the surf and the bird song.
Paddle boarding, sailing and kayaking are available to enjoy, along with special excursions (additional cost), cooking class, garden tours, hilly fitness trail, yoga and pilates classes, a small open air spa (additional cost) rum tasting, and other special events.
We met so many friendly couples from the UK and US. From honeymooners to those in their 80s and 90s. It’s also the perfect place for an upscale but casual girls trip.
Now if the actual travel part had gone smoothly….. lol. But we made it there (and back) and enjoyed the week immensely.
