⚓️Meet the Fleet: Luc, Captain⚓️

☀️ Luc’s path to the wheelhouse began as a deckhand with Casco Bay Custom Charters and this is his first year as a captain. He worked his way up through hands-on experience on the water, developing a deep knowledge of Casco Bay and the Maine coast.

✏️ When he’s not running charters, Luc balances his maritime career with academics. During the off-season, he is pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Southern Maine, where his thesis focuses on the invasive shrimp species Palaemon elegans and its ecological impacts. He also teaches General Biology laboratory courses, sharing his passion for marine science and ecology with the next generation of students.

🥂 Whether navigating the waters of Casco Bay or studying the ecosystems beneath the surface, Luc brings curiosity, expertise, and a lifelong connection to the marine environment to everything he does.

⚓️Meet the Fleet: Jim, Owner⚓️

🎣 Jim grew up fishing lakes, rivers and oceans with his family and quickly developed a love for boats. Ultimately he fell in love with wooden boats, even living on an old 1930’s Chris Craft. When he was offered the chance to become the owner of the Maine-built lobster boat, Monhegan, the seeds that would blossom into Casco Bay Custom Charters were sewn.

🛥️ Jim loves living in Maine with his wife and kids, sharing with them knowledge and skills about boats and boat systems whenever there’s an opportunity (solicited or otherwise…). Jim also loves working with the amazing team that makes Casco Bay Custom Charters, Casco Bay Boat Transport, and Portland Explorer run. He loves collaborating to solve technical challenges, brainstorm new ideas for charters, and dream about new opportunities.

⚓️Meet the Fleet: Lauren, Deckhand⚓️

☀️ Lauren grew up in Maine and is passionate about sharing its beauty with guests exploring Portland. After moving away for college, she was excited to return home and join Casco Bay Custom Charters as a deckhand; incorporating her theater, hospitality, and environmental education background.

🐈 Based in Portland’s West End, Lauren enjoys life with her cat, Tito, and a growing collection of rescue plants.
Outside of work, Lauren likes to stay active at the gym (Jacked and Jilled ), lounge at Willard, or cruise the green belt on her e-bike.

🥂 Her local knowledge, friendly personality, and love for the area helps create memorable experiences for every guest who steps onboard.

⚓️Meet the Fleet: Nick, Captain⚓️

🛥️ Nick was the very first deckhand at Casco Bay Custom Charters and has grown alongside the company as a part owner, lead Monhegan captain, and boat manager. His deep knowledge of the water, commitment to the fleet, and years of hard work have helped shape the company into what it is today.

🏄‍♂️ When he’s not on the water, Nick stays busy building and maintaining boats, crafting surfboards through Neto Shapes (Nick Aleandro ), and spending time up north maintaining his property with his wife and their dog. He’s also an active part of Maine’s vibrant surfing community, always finding time to chase waves whenever conditions line up.

☀️ Whether he’s running charters, shaping boards, working on projects at home, or building boats, Nick’s passion for life on the water is at the heart of everything he does.

⛑️ CPR and first aid are important certifications for anyone working on the water.

🛥️ Our crew got together to learn new skills and refresh the old. We even had a special guest appearance from Pepper to boost team spirit and Dr. Gallea to show us how to apply a tourniquet kit.

⚓️Meet the Fleet: Myles, Deckhand⚓️

🛥️ This is Myles first summer with CBCC and we’re so happy to have him. Myles grew up in Maine and has spent much of his life on the water, working on fishing charters and aboard a research vessel.

🦪 When not working, you’ll usually find him fly fishing, paddling, or skiing his way through the winter months.

☀️ Myles is excited to spend the summer on Casco Bay and help guests discover everything this incredible place has to offer!

☀️ A Cape Elizabeth native, Maria grew up exploring the islands of Casco Bay — and now she gets to share that love with every guest who steps on board! Last summer Maria joined Casco Bay Custom Charters as a deckhand and soon became part of our customer service team too.

🏊‍♀️ When she’s not on the water with us, you’ll find her open water swimming, catching waves, or working on her masters degree in Nutrition.

🌊 True to her Maine roots, she’s happiest when the ocean is in sight — and we’re so glad to have her on the crew!

⚓️ Meet the Fleet: Dylan, General Manager⚓️

☀️ As General Manager of Casco Bay Custom Charters, Dylan oversees the day-to-day operations that bring each charter to life — from coordinating crews and managing technology and systems to shaping the guest experience both on the water and behind the scenes. He works closely with captains, deckhands, local partners, and guests to ensure every cruise feels seamless, personal, and distinctly Maine.

🥂 Dylan lives in Portland, Maine with his wife and two sons (ages 2 years and 1 month). When not working with Casco Bay Custom Charters, he enjoys hiking, listening to Phish, and spending time exploring the Maine outdoors with his family! He is also currently pursuing his Master of Science in Computer Science at the Roux Institute.
