OATS was born out of frustration.
Most of us at OATS spent years in marketing, helping companies move more product. We got good at it. But I got tired of using good marketing to sell more stuff.
Weāre surrounded by messages telling us to buy more, upgrade more, and find the next thing that gives a dopamine hit. Looking back on the things that actually stick with me I never come in a box.
A day on the mountain. A trip somewhere new. Time with people I love, and with people I wouldnāt have met otherwise.
A trip wonāt fix everything. But I think thereās real value in more time outside, and time spent learning how others live.
So with OATS, we want to use those years of our teamās collective knowledge and skills to do something we care care more about.
Thatās all we do now. We market outfitters, tour operators and anyone else helping people get outside or travel somewhere new.
They already do the hard part. We help more people find them.
I wrote more about why in āFrom Consumerism to Connection.ā Link in bio.
