Happy Saturday, September 5! 🎉

Portland is keeping it busy today. The Farmers Market is open now through 2 p.m. at Fifth & Elm, Bowman Art & Framing is hosting a First Saturday Art Pop Up featuring Forgotten Coast Designs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Market Day at The Willow Venue has local vendors set up until noon. A great morning to get out and shop local!

This afternoon, Star Con Texas takes over the Portland Community Center from 1 to 8 p.m. Cosplay, pop culture, vendors, and fun for fans of all kinds ⭐

Pooch-A-Palooza H₂O kicks off at 4:30 p.m. at the Portland Aquatic Center. Dogs only in the pool, $5 per dog, and registration is required. Find the link in bio under Things to Do 🐾

Tonight, Crafty Mamas Meetup at Moonlit Art Space starts at 6:30 p.m. for an evening of painting wine glasses and good company. 18+ 🍷 And to close out the night, Still the One: A Tribute to Shania Twain takes the stage at Fifth & Elm at 7 p.m. FREE general admission 🎤

Kid Katch is back! 🎣

The City of Portland’s 22nd Annual Kid Katch Youth Fishing Tournament returns to Indian Point Pier on Saturday, September 12th. Kids 17 and younger can cast a line from 9 to 11 a.m. and compete for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards in every age division! Lunch and awards begin at 11 a.m.

Best of all, it’s FREE! Registered participants will receive lunch and a Kid Katch T-shirt while supplies last.
