When the world can feel more tense than ever, here's something worth remembering: Even our closest animal relatives can forgive one another! 🕊️

In the wild chimpanzee communities of Gombe, where Dr. Jane began her research more than six decades ago, conflict is natural. It's just part of life. But reconciliation is part of life, too.

One remarkable behaviour observed among the chimpanzees is reassurance. 🐵

After chimpanzees fight or have some sort of disagreement, chimpanzees may reach out – as seen here, in this shot from long ago. Such gestures help repair relationships, reduce tension, and restore harmony.

Conflict is inevitable. But the decision to reconnect, to comfort, and to choose peace? All of us can learn that from chimpanzees – and from each other. 💚

Wednesday was our last day in Quebec City, and there were still numerous sights to see before our return to Maine.
We began our day with a visit to the beautiful Sanctuaire Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré Shrine followed by a tour of the Cuivres d'art Albert Gilles, a family owned and operated copper art workshop and museum. The main doors of St. Anne's, depicting the life of Jesus were created by the artist Albert Gilles! Our final stop was Montmorency Falls, nearly 100 feet taller than Niagara Falls. We took the cable car to the top for a delicious private lunch buffet! Then admired the falls view from the bridge while some courageous folks went zipping across!

Our Eastern Townships & Quebec City Mid-Summer Gardens Motorcoach Tour was a huge success - We left the Eastern Townships & arrived in Quebec City on Monday evening 7/14 staying 2 nights at The Delta by Marriott Quebec just outside the gates of Old Quebec.
Tuesday morning after an early stroll with my friend Catharine past Café Boulangerie Paillard, Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Quebec, Le Monastère des Augustines, we enjoyed breakfast at Le Cochon Dingue. Our coach then picked up the group and we explored Quebec City and île d'Orléans with our guide Marie-Anne Barbel! She had traveled to greet & guide us on her CICÉRONE tours time machine! A French-Canadian businesswoman in New France 1704 –1793, Marie-Anne is remembered for leading several successful business enterprises after the death of her husband while raising 14 children!!
We enjoyed a visit and cider tasting at Cidrerie Verger Bilodeau, Wine tasting and 3-course lunch at La Grange de l'ile, quick stop at the Chocolaterie de l'Île d'Orléans before we returned to Quebec City with free time for relaxing and/or exploring more of Ole Quebec City, a short walk from our hotel.
