🇳🇴 The Northern Lights. Ice-covered fjords. Charming villages.

Norway has been on my list for SO long (I’m 1/4 Norwegian!), but the country is notoriously expensive to visit!

Thankfully, with points, you can shave off a HUGE chunk of that expense and save your money for fjord cruises and cozy dinners.

The method above is the BEST way to get the biggest bang for your points buck in Norway as far as I know, but the below methods are also doable if you’re not an Amex fan:

💳 Instead of transferring from Amex, get a Delta card! Their gold card (you can find at the link in my bio!) has no annual fee for the first year, gets you free bags, a $100 hotel credit, and an 80,000-mile signup bonus.

💳 Use Citi ThankYou points. Citi can transfer to Choice hotels at a 1:1.5 ratio, which means you can get those 12k-point hotels for just 8k points a night 😵 You can also transfer Citi points to JetBlue and KLM/Air France, which have one-way flights at around 25k points from the west coast (but taxes tend to be higher- around $170 one way).

💳 Use Capital One Miles. You can also book Choice Hotels with these miles, as well as JetBlue and KLM/Air France. You can also cover Airbnbs, independent properties, and other travel experiences with your Capital One Miles using the purchase eraser feature!

If you’ve got kids (or you’re a big kid yourself) odds are that Disneyland is on the brain.

But the typical costs? Astronomical 😩

That’s where points come in, and boy oh boy are the deals worth a look 🤩

Surprisingly, it’s actually one of the more affordable places to stay with points for a family vacation 😵 and flight prices ain’t too shabby either!

Take a look at how I would do it above, and then consider the following options if Chase isn’t your favorite:

💳 Use Alaska Airlines miles (known as Atmos Rewards) to book cheap points flights, typically 5k-7.5k miles one-way from Portland)
💳 Use Citi miles to book decent points flight deals (typically 8.5k-10k miles one-way from Portland) and book Choice or Wyndham hotels for 12k-15k points a night

And this is just the start of the possibilities!

Want to get to Disneyland, but don’t see your points listed here? Feel free to shoot me a DM and I’ll help you figure out what’s possible! There’s a way with ANY type of points.

Want to eat croissants and sip wine along the Seine?

You and me both.

I might actually be headed that way soon, and I am definitely looking at how to maximize my big Chase points stash over there!

However, if Chase cards aren’t for you- the method below is also a surefire way to save big with points!

💳 Accrue Citi points and transfer them to American Airlines and Choice Hotels (one-way flights are around 22,000 points, and Choice Hotels, though very no-frills, go for as low as 8,000 points a night in Paris. A great opportunity to spend the lowest amount of points possible!)

You can sign up for the cards I mentioned in my post via the link in my bio!

Bet you didn’t know all these things are so possible!

And guess what? You can get all of this with the signup bonus from ONE Chase credit card.

That’s right- ONE.

But before you get too excited, you need to know all the information. A lot of people are turned off to this card because of the higher annual fee, and that’s totally fair. For me personally, I found it to be worth it, and here’s why it might be for you too.

This card gives you the following:
-A $300 annual travel credit
-A $250 hotel credit for certain chains
-A $500 annual credit for stays at ‘The Edit’ hotels, along with a property credit
-Access to all Sapphire and Priority Pass lounges with two free guests
-A $300 annual dining credit
-A $300 annual Stubhub credit

…and HUNDREDS of dollars more in credits.

Plus, with that signup bonus, the worth of the card in the first year is easily over $3,000.

And yep, the annual fee is a whopping $795. Yeah, it’s a big fee. It’s not worth it to a lot of folks.

But as someone who travels constantly anyway, those credits and points are going to be invaluable, and I just got approved 🤩

Dreamin of palm trees and coconuts?

They might be more attainable than you think 😵

Hawaii is on nearly everyone’s travel bucket list, and luckily there are a PLETHORA of ways to get there on points.

Yes, I would personally use the above method (and I think it’s the best one!) BUT here are a few other options too:

✈️ Alaska Airlines (comparable points rates)
✈️ Delta Airlines (comparable points rates)
💳 Capital One Miles (You can use their points eraser to reimburse yourself for a nice Airbnb so you can cook and spread out a little!)

If you would’ve told me several years ago that one day I would save about $10,000 on travel thanks to credit card points, I would’ve thought you were crazy 😅

Credit cards were nowhere in my financial landscape growing up- they were viewed as instruments for debt and throwing your money out the window. But once I learned that they can just be used as debit cards for every day expenses, I learned just how much savings I was leaving on the table from the travel points you can earn.

Now, dozens of trips later, my trips look expensive while staying on budget. I travel a lot more for a lot less!

Wondering how? I started this page to help you learn what exactly you could do with points, so that you can fly for nearly free too.

The 2026 winter games are underway in Milan, Italy, and I don’t know about you, but the images of those snowy Dolomites have me gnawing at the bars of my enclosure 😍🏔️❄️

I’m not headed to the games this time (though it’s a huge bucket list item!) but here are a few ways I’d make the jaunt from Portland to Milan for all the skiing, skating, and snowboarding my heart desires ⛷️🏂⛸️

You can find a lot of the cards you’d need to book these flights in the link in my bio!
