Reflecting back on one of the most unique travel Thanksgivings ever experienced! In November of 2016 my family visited 3 cities in China. On Thanksgiving Day, we found ourselves in Chengdu at the Giant Panda Breeding facility that loans pandas to zoos around the world. We had a once-in-a-lifetime panda close encounter experience followed by a tour of a beautiful Buddhist Temple. We shared our Chinese Thanksgiving dinner with our two tour guides and they brought us to an authentic Chinese restaurant with the most magnificent Chinese meal I've ever eaten. The food was explained and spun around to all of us on a lazy Susan and dessert plates were used as the dinner plates because in China, people generally eat less (or have multiple helpings). Lastly, when I went to use the restroom at this nice restaurant... it was still a hole in the ground, in line with Chinese culture! I am grateful for my very patient first customer, Jean Miller Smith, who is going on a Royal Caribbean cruise with extended family over Christmas🎄❤️🌴 from Baltimore. Who knew that one can go to the Bahamas without a passport due to a little known rule that if U.S. citizen, one can take a closed-loop cruise (begins and ends at the same port) and only show gov issued ID/birth certificate)? Learning experience all around. 🤗 Excited for Jean and family‼️🚢 🌊🌸🐢🌞

One summer we did an airline employee exchange program with Monique Guilbault and Nina Kuhlmann, from Paris, France! Nina lived with us for one month that summer and Monique lived with her family in Paris and in the south of France. Nina's family invited us all to come meet them and tour Paris... such a wonderful memory and cultural exchange!

New Zealand/Australia for Christmas in 2018 was beyond our wildest dreams of a vacation spot. Auckland, Melbourne and Sydney for New Years Eve! Koala bears, kangaroos, the 12 Apostles National Park, Boxing Day shopping, The Opera House, Melbourne penguins at Kilda, Bondi Beach and many others. We found the people to be friendly and who can resist those accents (?), the cities were clean and it is definitely a place I plan to revisit!

NYC, the BIG 🍎, is uniquely fabulous any time of the year! Photos from multiple trips - at Christmas time to see The Rockettes, have Frozen Hot Chocolate at Sweet Serendipity, the tree, lights, store window decorations. Nothing beats HAMILTON on broadway and must pay respects at Ground Zero.

Truly once In a lifetime! Shanghai, Chengdu, Beijing with a tour in each city. In Shanghai (the NYC of China), boat ride down the Huangpu River, silk factory tour, Yuyuan Old Street, the architecture, food, art, culture! Chengdu a delightful tour of the Panda facility that loans pandas to zoos around the world, close encounter with a 2-year old cub, Puzhu Buddhist Temple, 'Thanksgiving' dinner with our wonderful tour guides in a traditional authentic Chinese restaurant. Beijing... THE GREAT WALL, Tiananmen Square, shopping/bargaining. What an experience!

WARSAW, POLAND 🇵🇱 ‼️ Most meaningful trip considering my heritage; the fact that my Dad is a WWII survivor, as a boy in Warsaw remembers the German tanks rolling in, the chaos, confusion and utter horror that followed. He fought in the underground movement, the Warsaw Uprising, was marched to a camp, where he was liberated by General Patton's army. We explored the New Town and Old Town of beautiful Warsaw, went to parks (so many have a part of a King's palace or tomb of an unknown soldier or Chopin's hands or other famous statues within them), museums, traditional Polish dinner with Krakowianka dancers, the European cemeteries where Dad's immediate family is buried, and met Polish relatives I never had met before. So great to hear Dad speak his native language. I wondered how well he would do... he speaks it better than English!
