URGENT: Mama Cat Has Moved Her Family Into My Home Without My Permission — I Need Help Finding Them a Loving Home!
I have a situation that sounds like it came straight out of a cartoon, but I promise you — it is very real.
A stray mama cat was dropped off next door months ago. Since then, she has been sneaking into my home through my dog JuneBug's doggy door. I cannot lock JuneBug out of the house during the day — she needs access to the yard for emergencies and bathroom breaks — so the door has to stay open. I have done everything short of putting up a neon "NO CATS" sign to make this mama feel unwelcome. She has not cared even a little bit.
It gets better. Yesterday I spotted her moving kittens in my backyard. I shooed her off. When I came home an hour later, she was sitting at my back door with a kitten — like she was checking me in for a hotel reservation. By morning, two kittens were abandoned at my door with no mama in sight.
Then at 1 o'clock this morning, she woke me out of a dead sleep — in my bedroom — jumping on the baker's rack where I keep JuneBug's treats. This morning she strolled out when I fixed JuneBug's breakfast like she owned the place and was simply inspecting the kitchen service.
When I tried to usher her out, she bolted into my walk-in closet, which is packed floor-to-ceiling with Christmas decorations. I closed the door and went to work. It has since dawned on me that she may have already moved her entire litter of 6 kittens into my house. Without asking. Without signing a lease.
Here is the honest truth: I am a dog person. JuneBug is a dog person's dog. We are not equipped for this, and these babies deserve someone who is.
Here is what I am offering:
✅ Mama cat is friendly and handleable — she should be easy to catch
✅ I am willing to pay to have her spayed
✅ I will coordinate access so you can retrieve her and the kittens
What I need from YOU:
🐾 Someone to take mama and her kittens and care for them, OR
🐾 Help connecting with a rescue, foster, or cat-loving person who will give them the home they deserve
These babies did not ask to be dropped off. Mama is just doing what mamas do. But I am not the right person for this job, and they deserve someone who is.
