Food Tour guide going on a food tour… I faced my fear & ate a raw oyster WITH chewing! These are considered THE BEST oysters in France & it was absolutely delicious! (That has not always been my experience…).

DID YOU KNOW… macaroons were once a very secret recipe guarded by French nuns (near Bordeaux)? Original cookies were made with ground up almonds, egg whites & sugar plus a secret ingredient…. The cover photo is from the original recipe and is much less “refined” & more chewy than the “Paris style” macaroon most of us know & love! (From a recent food tour I attended in St. Emillion, France).
