Wool Smash-Em Coasters. My 3 year old project tester gave me his approval 😁. I will have these available for winter market. (I neglected to get a video of his testing. It was much more entertaining!) Rochester Farmers Markets

It's Halloween creating time! This little princess stand was obviously well loved and had a good life. Now I'm creapifying it! 😲. It's far from finished but I got a good start on it this weekend. It's one of several larger pieces that I will have for sale at Stardust Retro Revival this season.

Do you need some inspiration today? Take a walk along a trail with goldenrod. Stop and look at how diverse the population of bees and other great bugs is on these flowers. You will be amazed at how many different bumble bees you find! Need even more inspiration? Get ahold of a book called "In a Patch of Goldenrod" by the MN author Larry Weber. Afraid of allergies kicking in? Did you know that it's not because of goldenrod? The pollen from goldenrod is too heavy to be an allergen. 😁

It's fun to watch a vision come to life! Needle felting rarely looks good until it's finished 🀣. This is one of the main reasons that people give up on learning to needle felt. Just keep going, you'll get there. It's the beginning of mitten making season for me. What do you want staring back at you on the back of your mittens???

What's the MN Garlic Festival like? I see a lot of silly fun, music and a festive atmosphere with amazing vendors and entertainment for the 3-4,000 people who attend. It's also this. The opportunity to soak up knowledge from those passionate about garlic. Paul & Devan will spend the entire day helping others understand the world of garlic. This is typically my (Cashier Karen) view the entire day. The garlic farmers will wear a button that says "Ask me. I'm a farmer." I think this year I will make myself a button that says, "Don't ask me. I'm the cashier". 🀣

Proof of concept! Warm muggy weather isn't my thing so I've had some time to explore new things with my wool. I recently bought a gimmicky gadget that actually works! It makes cording from my thinly spun yarn. I took that to my trusty 1965 πŸ’™ Duck Egg Blue πŸ’™ Singer sewing machine, which happens to be my only machine that is new enough to have the zigzag stitch, and I can create cord baskets! I don't like to dye yarn so I have found a way to wrap strips of material around some of the cording as I see to add more interest to the final basket. So here is proof of concept. Today I will try to put it all together and come up with a final product. I love learning new techniques!

Debut of my 2026 MN Garlic Festival hat! This particular one is not for sale since it took me a ridiculous 6 hours to bead with my old arthritic hands! πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’« I did tweak the technique and will have a better version of it for sale at the festival. Come check out this fun festival next Saturday! https://www.facebook.com/share/1FDFhAxRo8/
