In 1946 the Chicago & Eastern Illinois Railroad dedicated the new "Whippoorwill" streamlined passenger train that would run between Evansville and Chicago. Towns along the line selected a young lady to represent them at the dedication. This photo appeared in the October 29, 1946 edition of the Princeton Clarion.

The Princeton depot is 150 years old in 2025. The Evansville & Crawfordsville Railroad built the depot in 1875. Subsequent owners have been the Evansville & Terre Haute RR, Chicago & Eastern Illinois Railroad, Louisville & Nashville RR, and CSX.
