Fishing has been great since my return from Alaska!!!! Fish sizes have been all over the place but we have been getting some brutes over the last week!

Time to start looking at fall/winter dates yall! Come out and learn about how to use planer boards and fishing shallow! We are not using boards yet, but I fully expect to be on boards in about a month or so.

I only have 7 weekend dates available for the rest of the year. And less than 60 days left total for 2026! Let’s go fishing!!!

Back to reality here soon as we wrap up the yearly Alaska trip! This has nothing to do with my guide business but I do have a lot of people that ask for updates on how the trip goes every year!!

Salmon bite was much slower than last year but was still good enough to bring some good boxes home. The family just doesn’t get salmon and halibut filets for Christmas 🤣

Still didn’t get my 100 but I did put 2 good friends on their first 100s (105,150) which gives me just as much satisfaction! Highlight of my trip was darting a halibut (150 #) then watch it break my buddies line. Basically we had to fight the fish for the next few minutes on nothing but a dart line. Adrenaline rush!!!! Will piece together a video of that.

Here’s to another successful year at Waters Edge Lodge and as always looking forward to the next AK adventure! This place never gets old!!!

Some don’t realize I do offer fishing cleaning. I do but at an additional charge, but I send them home with filets like they headed to my house. Super clean ready to do whatever they want with them!!

I thought I recorded the filets coming off but guess the meta glasses missed that one. Will do another one down the road!

Little opinion on oxygen levels. Wish we could see exactly what they are but with the monitors unhooked it’s a guessing game. In my opinion they aren’t as bad as you would think. Reasons why? Check out the video 👇👇👇

This Wednesday 8/26 is available. Probably will be using some spoons and freelines.

Boy it’s been hot this week!!! Crawfish are boiling in the shallows 🤣🤣🤣 Seen 91 degrees on the water temp today in places. Fish bit well again today!

Is it June? July? Man it sure felt like it!! Doubles, triples, Spoons, freelines! They ate them all. 4 person limit this morning and it’s wasn’t no 1 fish every 20min type of morning!!

Seen some stuff today that has me excited to finish out this month 💪💪💪

Had a group the other day that said I needed to start using this hashtag. So here’s to the start of it. May have to add that to the next batch of shirts.

Quick tip on doing your oil change. A piece of tape keeps it from dripping on the midsection and lower unit. Makes for a much easier clean up.
