Need approval: not to be dramatic but fall in utah valley is about to be everyone’s entire personality 🍂

It’s official: Downtown Provo is hosting its first ever BYU Fan Festival 🏈
Introducing First Down Provo, a brand new event to kick off BYU’s 2026 Big 12 football season in Provo. One night, all the game day energy, right in the heart of Provo.

📍Historic Utah County Courthouse grounds in Downtown Provo

Admission is free, and the lineup is stacked: live music from , food vendors, kids activities, BYU merch, giveaways, Cougs Care and much more! Fans are also encouraged to bring canned food to donate to help give back to the community.

Eating our way through Utah’s most iconic foods! 🐝⛰️

Most of these classics date back to the 1950s and they’re a must try when you’re in Utah Valley. Here’s what we tried and where to get them:

🥤 DIRTY SODAS

Swig started right here in Utah and is now loved nationwide. Keep it classic with a Diet Coke, coconut, lime, and coconut cream.
Try it at: Swig, Sodalicious, or Thirst

🥔 FUNERAL POTATOES

This creamy potato casserole topped with crunchy cornflakes became a staple comfort dish served after funeral services and has been a family favorite ever since.

Try it at: Station 22, Five Star BBQ

🍍 HAWAIIAN HAYSTACKS

A potluck legend. Start with rice, chicken, and gravy, then pile on toppings like pineapple, olives, cheese, green peppers, and chow mein noodles. Every family has their own combo.

Try it at: The Bowl Factory

🍟 FRY SAUCE

Invented in Utah and popularized right here in Provo. Recipes range but it is often a base blend of mayo and ketchup, and it goes on everything!

Try it at: Guru’s, or basically any restaurant in Utah with fries

🍩 SCONES

A Utah scone is nothing like a traditional scone. Instead of a crumbly, buttery pastry, it’s a pillowy fried dough inspired by indigenous fry bread, usually served with honey butter.
