We broke a record today!

Until now, our oldest passenger was 95.

Today, that record was shattered by Frank, age 97. Yes, you read that correctly… NINETY-SEVEN!

Frank drove himself to the airport from Fort Myers, walked in under his own steam, needed no assistance, and climbed into Gracie like he’d been doing it his whole life.

He told us that a biplane ride had been on his bucket list for years. Then he added that his bucket list keeps getting longer… because he keeps getting older! 😂

Of course, we had to ask the obvious question:

“What’s the secret to a long, healthy life?”

Frank didn’t hesitate.

“Stay away from whiskey!”

Now, that advice caused a bit of discomfort among the Suncoast Biplanes team, several of whom are known to enjoy the occasional wee dram of single malt. 🥃😂

Perhaps it’s time for some serious self-reflection.

In all seriousness, Frank was an inspiration. His energy, independence, sense of humour, and appetite for adventure are qualities we should all aspire to.

Thank you for flying with us, Frank. We hope we’re all half as active, sharp, and adventurous when we’re 97.

Age is just a number. Adventure is forever. ✈️💙

Hi everyone, this is Gareth, Chief Pilot and Co-owner of Gracie and Suncoast Biplanes.
Last week in the UK, I had the extraordinary privilege of flying in — and actually flying — this beautiful Mark IX Spitfire.

For me, it was a lifetime dream fulfilled. My very top bucket list item.

But on Memorial Day, the aircraft means far more than the dream.

The Spitfire carries the memory of the young aviators who climbed into these machines in defense of freedom. Many were British. Many came from across the Commonwealth. And yes, Americans flew Spitfires too.

Sitting behind that Merlin engine, looking out over those unmistakable wings, it’s impossible not to think about those who once saw the world from a cockpit like this — and never came home.

Today we remember them, and all who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Grateful for the privilege. Humbled by what it represents.

Huge turnout at the Boca Grande Sandbar today for the Boca H2O Music Festival!

Access to this massive floating concert was by watercraft only — and there were boats of every shape and size out there enjoying the show.

We had a pretty incredible view from above, circling at 1,000 feet in Gracie and capturing all the action from the sky.

Hope everyone had an amazing time at the festival — we sure did!
