Updated rules for Disney Cruise Lines

Disney Cruise Line has updated their rules for Stateroom Door Decorating along with the amount of alcohol that guests can bring onboard 🚢

- Stateroom Door Decorating 🚪
Guests may still decorate their doors and fish extenders with no changes there, but…you can’t go any farther than that.

New - “Decorations should only be placed on doors and are not permitted on corridor walls or ceilings.”

- Alcohol brought onboard 🍷
Guests may bring a maximum of one used to be 2) bottle of unopened wine or sparkling wine (no larger than 750 ml) or 6 beers (no larger than 12 ounces).

The corkage fee is $20 which is down from the previous $29.

Both of these changes will go into effect for sailings beginning June 3, 2026

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets comes speeding into Disney’s Hollywood Studios in summer 2026, fueled by the tasty tunes of the Electric Mayhem and the high-speed hijinks of The Muppets. And even more exciting – today, we have electrifying new details to share about the colorful cast of characters guests meet while hanging around the recording studio.

The Electric Mayhem: One Night Only!
The Electric Mayhem are headlining their biggest Hollywood concert ever! Anyone who’s anyone is in attendance to witness Animal, Dr. Teeth, and the rest of this groove-tastic group rock the house down. There’s just one little problem: the band is nowhere to be found!

Across town at G-Force Records, guests are treated to a VIP tour of the legendary rock and roll recording studio. Things might look a little different around this Hollywood institution, as the label has recently come under new management – The Muppets! We’re happy to say that our colorful crew has landed some new digs… with just a little help from Scooter’s uncle, real estate tycoon and owner of the Muppet Theatre, J.P. Grosse (he really puts the G in G-Force). Just wait until your guests see how they’ve made these hallowed halls their own, creating the perfect place to make sweet, sweet Muppet music together!

Five Lightning Lane details Disney never explains. 🎢

Disney's Lightning Lane system has rules. It also has margins around those rules that most families never discover. These five details aren't hidden exactly - they're just never explained.
You can scan in 5 minutes early. Your window says 2:00 PM. You're at the ride at 1:55. Tap your MagicBand or phone. Green light. You're in. Any earlier than that and you'll get the blue rejection circle.

Your window is actually three hours, not one. The app shows a 1-hour return window. The system keeps your Lightning Lane valid for roughly two additional hours after that window closes. A reservation that says 2:00 to 3:00 PM will scan green until about 5:00 PM. If a dining reservation runs long or you're across the park, you have real breathing room. One exception: show Lightning Lanes are locked to specific showtimes. The extended window does not apply.

Screenshot every confirmation. The My Disney Experience app glitches. It has erased Lightning Lane selections without warning. When it happens, your only recourse is Guest Relations, and they can only help with proof. Screenshot every confirmation the moment you book it. If something disappears, walk to the nearest Guest Experience Team tent (the blue umbrellas in the parks) with your screenshot and they'll work to restore it.

The app reminders are unreliable. My Disney Experience will sometimes notify you when a window is approaching. Sometimes it won't. Set a personal alarm on your phone 15 to 30 minutes before each return window. That gives you time to walk across the park if needed.

Your group doesn't have to ride together. Everyone linked in My Disney Experience doesn't have to book the same Lightning Lane. When making a selection, scroll down to the party toggle and deselect anyone who doesn't want that ride. They can book something else at the same time. Nobody has to settle for a ride they don't want just because the rest of the family picked it.
