“The taiko drumming lesson was a lot of fun. 🥁The instructor did an excellent job guiding us through the fundamentals of taiko (relaxation, timing, smiling, speed, and breathing), all while making sure we enjoyed ourselves. After the lesson, he gave an intense performance, showcasing his skills on a much larger drum than the ones we had been using.” 🎵

"She came over to the house we are staying in instead of us driving to her. We listened as a group to her stories and wisdom, learned more about Hawaiian culture and history, and made Paniolo Pancakes, or Cowboy Pancakes. 🥞

Then, we went to Mala’ai Culinary Garden of Waimea Middle School. In the culinary garden we weeded plants, distributed mulch on top of the soil, and tried many new fruits and vegetables, and learned about different plants.” 🌱 🍠

Kayaking in Kefalonia 🚣🚣‍♀️🚣‍♂️
“We spent our last full day in Kefalonia kayaking through the clear blue ocean, navigating through sea caves and tunnels with a sunny beach break in the middle. Along our way, seals 🦭poked their heads out of the water and swam up by our kayaks, and sea urchins 🪸 dotted the rocks beneath us.”

“We arrived at Bern University of Applied Scientist, where we met Prof. Dr. Gabriel Gruener. He introduced us to the fascinating world of robotics, as well as their real-life, both industrial and personal, applications. 🤖

The group was split into three, and we spent some time in the university’s labs, discovering for ourselves what robotics truly means: we tried our hand at controlling and programming mobile robots; we then attempted to manipulate an industrial robot, through both a graphical interface as well as a script of code; finally, we delved into the world of prosthetics, experimenting with force-feedback controllers and wheelchairs with prosthetic arms. 🦾🦿”
