A few weeks ago, we travelled to Portugal & Spain with our daughter and her soccer team.

Ed & I honeymooned in Portugal & Spain almost 20 years ago. Going back with her was a full-circle moment!

On our honeymoon, we stayed in Marbella on Spain’s Costa del Sol, explored Ronda, Seville, Gibraltar & Morocco then on to Óbidos, Portugal. This adventure took us to Lisbon, Porto and Madrid & returning to Óbidos bringing back memories.

We packed so much into 11 days…

🇵🇹 Enjoyed the famous Pastéis de Belém
🏖️ Relaxed on the beach in Cascais (kids’ fav day!)
🌊 Witnessed the giant surf waves of Nazaré
⚽ Toured Benfica & Real Madrid stadiums
🍷 Walked Porto’s beautiful riverfront
🏰 Wandered the magical streets of Lisbon, Madrid, Salamanca, Toledo & Setúbal
🥘 Ate some of the best food and gelato! The kids made nightly McD’s runs, it’s better in Europe. 😂

As much as I love the incredible food, w**e, history, architecture, and slower pace of life in Europe, my favorite memories had little to do with any of those…

❤️ Watching our daughter experience Europe for the very first time.

⚽ Watching our teams play local Portuguese clubs whose players and parents were so welcoming (Fun fact: youth futebol clubs in Portugal have bars! 🍻) After every match, the kids gathered together speaking different languages to take pics/chat and there was some teaching of curse words in eachother’s languages. 🤣 The most memorable moment came after our final match in Porto when they exchanged jerseys, core memory!

🏆 Watching so much soccer in 11 days! Between our teams’ matches and the WC games, I loved it! Portugal v Columbia with locals in Lisbon and Spain v Austria beneath Real Madrid’s Stadium at Bernabéu Market was something I’ll never forget.

After our honeymoon, I didn’t feel the need to return to Portugal. Sometimes a place deserves a second chance and sometimes it ends up becoming one of your favorites. Portugal completely stole my heart this time around…the warmth of its people, its beautiful cities, incredible coastline, amazing food and w**e, rich history, and relaxed way of life.

If Portugal is on your wish list, don’t wait, the secret is out. I can’t wait to go back 🇵🇹

For those of you who may not know, I’ve had the privilege of serving on The Heart of JCo Executive Board for the past 4+ years.

Our mission is simple but incredibly important: to create a kinder world where no child goes hungry or is excluded because of financial hardship.

Over the past 10 years, The Heart of JCo has made a meaningful impact throughout the Huntingdon, PA community by initiatives like:
• Providing weekend food backpacks for children facing food insecurity in 13 local schools
• Providing Girl Power Packs (feminine hygiene products) to the schools
• Funding summer pool passes
• Providing clothing, shoes, athletic gear, and other essentials
• Helping cover field trip costs & other school related activities
• Distributing back-to-school bundles each year
• Providing financial assistance for extracurricular activities
• Hosting Prom Magic so every student can attend prom with confidence
• Assisting families facing illness, tragedy, or unexpected hardship
• Providing Thanksgiving dinners

My role within the foundation mainly is in the planning of JCo Gala Week, an incredible week that brings together travel industry partners from around the world before our annual gala. Through sponsorships and participation, these amazing & generous companies help us raise critical funds for the foundation while also giving our advisors the opportunity to build stronger relationships with the suppliers we trust to care for our clients. Those relationships are one of the things that truly sets our agency apart and ultimately benefit every traveler we serve.

This past spring, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and supporters, we raised just under $120,000 for The Heart of JCo.

Receiving this plaque was incredibly meaningful. Volunteer recognition has never been why I do this, but I am truly honored and humbled. The real reward is knowing that together we’re making a genuine difference in the lives of children that need to know they are supported and seen.

My role is just one piece of a much larger puzzle. It takes an incredible board, dedicated volunteers, generous sponsors, and a community that believes every child deserves opportunity, dignity, and hope.

I’m proud to be a small part of something that continues to change lives year after year. 💗

We had the best time last week celebrating my husband’s 50th birthday with some of our closest friends at 🏝️

I don’t often relax on vacation (nature of the business) but I committed and I succeeded! I did not take my laptop out once, I rarely was even near my phone, took hardly any pictures and it was so worth it!! Unplugging is so important when you get the chance, take it!

I have visited and stayed at tons of Secrets properties all over and SPE is now at the top of my list! It’s 1.5hrs from the Punta Cana airport and the most worthy drive ever! The resort feels remote and secluded, the beach and water are STUNNING. This resort is basically brand new, just opened last year. We loved the resort layout, had good meals & drinks, fun nighttime entertainment (shoutout to the piano & sax players, so fun!), had great spa treatments, we laughed wayyyy too much and did not want to leave!

Highly, highly, highly Recommend!

There is a Dreams right next door for families (adults can go between, kids cannot SNS!)
