The FAA announced that MOSAIC has been approved. This program makes changes to the Light Sport Pilot certificate, including the ability to use different types of aircraft than previously permitted.
The Light Sport license, with its lower hour requirements, can be used to get you into the air faster for strictly recreational flying or provide a stepping stone to the private pilot rating later on.

How Do You Determine If an Aircraft Is Ready to Return to Service after Maintenance.

Avoiding CFIT accidents

This two hour event is a two part seminar, provided by the FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) from the Albany Flight Standards District Office (FSDO). The seminar will cover information of interest to all pilots and student pilots.

The first first part of this seminar presents The Topic of The Month, "What is an Approval for Return to Service." We’ll discuss the maintenance record requirements and suggested pre flight procedures done by pilots prior to flying an aircraft after maintenance has been performed.

The second part of this seminar will discuss Controlled Flight Into Terrain (CFIT) accidents. We will take a deep dive into the statistics behind these accidents, why they happen and how to best prevent them.

Refreshments are provided.
