Big news from Cara Group Travel!

We've partnered with Galgorm and Boardwalk Sports to launch the first regular-season Division I collegiate golf tournament in Europe, the NI Collegiate Invitational.

Top individuals and programs from across the United States will compete on a championship course at Galgorm Castle Golf Club in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, staying at the award-winning 5-star Galgorm Resort.

Results will affect team and individual rankings and standings. Galgorm will also invite the tournament's top 3 players to a Legends Tour Event in 2028, accommodations included, giving these student-athletes the chance to play alongside former World No. 1s, Major Champions, and Ryder Cup heroes.

Galgorm Castle has hosted some of golf's biggest stages, including the Northern Ireland Open, the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, and the ISPS Handa World Invitational, where men's and women's professionals competed for equal prize money at the same venue.

Golfers here play the same grounds as European Tour, LPGA, and DP World Tour champions. 2026 Champion Golfer of the Year Ryan Fox won the 2016 NI Open at Galgorm, while the 2026 US PGA Champion was runner-up at the 2020 Irish Open.

Our very own Maureen has been out on the road in Ireland this past week with one of our groups, and she’s been having a blast!

From Dublin to Cork, Kinsale and Killarney, all the way to Galway, the group has been soaking up some of Ireland’s best sights and experiences. From a jaunting car ride through Killarney National Park and the Ring of Kerry to the Cliffs of Moher, Connemara, Kylemore Abbey, the Rock of Cashel and a visit to the Guinness Storehouse, there has been plenty to see along the way.

And of course, Maureen has been busy capturing it all!
