Health update on your favorite travel advisor: I came into the hospital last weekend because my feet and legs were all swollen up and I was a little short of breath and come to find out that my heart was 165, which is not sustainable, and they said, "Oh yeah, good thing you came in so you didn't die." (of course they said it a little more professionally, but not much.)
So they did a bunch of drugs and weird things that hurt like crazy, and they got my heart rate down to where it's supposed to be, but it was still skipping beats.
They have done some other tests and an echo and stuff like that. I have been released now to wear a cardiac monitor and take some medications and follow up with a cardiologist in a week. I am a little tired and need to consider my activity level but otherwise I am doing well.
Seriously, words cannot express how appreciative I am for the prayers and thoughts, and well wishes, and just caring from people who are in all of my various walks of life. I am a truly blessed human being.
My assistant, Allison, who by the way is worth her weight in gold, has been helping hold down the fort, and I am trying to get all caught up with everyone as quickly as possible.
On the fun side, I will be celebrating my 50th high school reunion this weekend (apparently I graduated when I was six years old) so there is that.
Onward and upward…
