Jon Crane is my favorite local artist. I have been following him, and purchasing his art, for decades. I though you all might enjoy seeing Moonshine Gulch Saloon rendered as a beautiful watercolor.

WHICH DO YOU PREFER?
Jon Crane has painted the iconic Moonshine Gulch twice over the years. First, with "Moonshine Gulch Saloon" in 1992 and secondly, "Warmth Within" in 2009. The paintings capture the small town of Rochford, located near Mystic, where Jon and Gail live. The Moonshine Gulch Saloon is a great little bar where you can get the best greasy burgers in the Hills and wash them down with a cold beer or two. During the winter, there is always a warm fire going, but the real “Warmth Within” is the people.

The prints are available both on our website and at the gallery in Hill City.

A lot of people ask us for food recommendations in Deadwood. Jake's in the Midnight Star is a hidden gem. If you happen to be up there Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Sunday evening this prefix meal is available from 4:00 to 6:00 and is an incredible bargain. We think Jake's is one of the most beautiful restaurants in the Black Hills.

Parking overnight in Edgemont is a breeze. They have a huge lot right across from the trailhead.
