When I was five, my grandparents took me to Walt Disney World for the first time. I still remember dressing up as Alice from Alice in Wonderland and meeting the characters and that trip sparked a lifelong love for Disney magic. Since then, I’ve returned many times and have spent years helping friends, family, and clients plan their own Disney adventures. Just popping on to show my face! 👋 It’s been a busy two weeks over here. Two of the three boys have been sick, not at the same time of course 😂 Then they were kind enough to share it with me.

I think we’re finally all heading toward healthy again, just as our craziest two months start winding down! Both older boys are wrapping up their first seasons of high school and middle school soccer. ⚽️

Hopefully that means a little more availability on my end as we get ready for all the winter and spring trips coming up! ☀️✈️

You know those days where you're just running from one thing to the next? Yeah... that's me. 😂

Between the kids, soccer, errands, work, and everything else, I'm pretty sure I'm in my car more than I'm actually at home some days. And somewhere in between all of that, I'm probably answering a travel question, checking a reservation, or sending a client something from my phone. 😂

Being a travel advisor definitely doesn't mean I have a traditional 9-5. And honestly, I kind of love that.

Now if I could just figure out how to make my car a Disney destination, we'd really be onto something. 😂✈️

Sometimes people ask me what I actually do all day as a travel advisor.
Honestly? A little bit of everything. 😂

Some days I'm working on Disney trips, some days Universal, some days cruises or all-inclusives. I'm researching resorts, comparing options, answering questions, making changes, checking promotions and trying to figure out how to make someone's vacation work with their budget and what they actually want to do.

And yes, there are definitely days where I have approximately 47 tabs open on my computer. 😂

I really do love the planning part of this job. I like figuring out all the little pieces and putting them together into a trip that makes sense for a particular family.

So while, yes, I book travel... that's really just the beginning of what I do. ❤️

Okay, important question... Are you getting a Dole Whip when you're at Disney? 🍍🍦

Because I am. 😂

And there are so many different versions now that it's not even just the classic Dole Whip anymore. I'll never complain about having an excuse to stop for one while I'm in the parks!

One of my favorite character meals at Disney is Topolino's Terrace at the Riviera. ❤️ First of all, the characters' outfits are ADORABLE. Look at Daisy! 😂

But I also really love this one because it's at the Riviera, so you get to see that resort while you're there. The food is good, the character interaction is fun, and it's just a little different from some of the other character meals.

If you're planning a Disney trip, character dining is something I always ask about because it can definitely affect how I plan out your days.

My favorite Disney fireworks tip: ride Big Thunder Mountain during the fireworks! 🎆🎢

You get the fireworks going off over the castle while you're flying around the mountain. It's SO much fun, and you don't have to fight the Main Street crowds to watch the show.

If Universal Orlando is on your list for winter or spring 2027, here's my advice: don't just pick a hotel and start booking everything. 😂

There are a lot of things that can make a difference in your Universal vacation. Which resort makes the most sense for your family? How many park days do you really need? Is Express Pass worth it for your trip? Should you prioritize Early Park Admission? How much time do you need for Epic Universe? And what about all that Harry Potter stuff your kids have been waiting for?

Those are the things I help you figure out.

My job isn't just to find you a room and send you a confirmation number. I want to make sure the whole vacation makes sense for your family and that you're getting the most out of the money you're spending.

If you're thinking about a Universal Orlando vacation and it's been a while since you've been, there's something pretty important you need to know... Universal Orlando now has THREE theme parks!

Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure and the newest addition, Epic Universe. 🌌

And with Epic Universe added to the mix, planning a Universal vacation looks a little different than it did a few years ago. How many days you have, which parks you want to visit and what you want to experience can all change how I'd recommend setting up your trip.

Then you add in the resorts, Early Park Admission, Express Pass, CityWalk and all the Harry Potter fun, and there's actually quite a bit to think about.

So when someone tells me they're thinking about Universal, I don't just ask, "What dates?"

I want to know what you want to get out of the trip. That's what helps me build the right vacation for you.

Pandora at Animal Kingdom is one of those places that is just SO much better in person, especially after the sun goes down. 😍 The entire area changes once it gets dark, and the details are pretty incredible. And then, of course, there's Flight of Passage.

I'm curious because I feel like there are two kinds of Disney people when it comes to this one... 😂 Are you getting to Flight of Passage first thing in the morning, or are you saving it for later in the day?

I think I know which one I'd pick, but I'm curious what everyone else does!

What Do I Actually Do as a Travel Advisor?

I think sometimes people hear “travel advisor” and think, “So you book the hotel?”

Well... yes. 😂 But that's definitely not all I do.

A huge part of my job is the research, planning and knowing what questions to ask. I help you figure out which resort actually makes sense for your family, how many park days you need, what room category is worth the money, what extras you can skip, and how to put everything together so your vacation actually works for YOU.

And then there's the part people don't always think about: what happens after you book. If something changes, you have someone to reach out to who already knows your trip and can help you figure out what to do next.

You're not paying me just to click "book." You're paying for the experience, the time I save you, the planning that goes into your trip and having someone in your corner from the time we start planning until you're home.

That's what I love about being a travel advisor. ❤️
