New Mexico Adventure Co.

New Mexico Adventure Co. The official page of New Mexico Adventure Co. We specialize in outdoor adventures in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains near Red River and Taos, New Mexico.

New Mexico Adventure Company books and drives guided Jeep tours. We also book guided whitewater rafting trips, horseback rides, 4-wheeler tours, fly fishing trips, and cowboy evening dinners in the Red River and Taos area. Call the office by 6 pm Mountain Time any day for times and details. Our 3-hour guided Jeep tours offer a great way to see Greenie Peak, Goose Lake, Cabresto Lake, or the Old Pa

ss and Pioneer Canyon. You get to sit back and relax while one of our fun and informative drivers takes you driving through some of New Mexico's most beautiful country with chances to see some Southwestern wildlife--black bears, elk, mule deer and more. You'll be able to pan for gold and see historic sites in the area. Ride with other groups to mingle and meet new friends. Please call for times and details.
--Greenie is the highest peak in New Mexico over which you can drive. Along the way, you'll see Mallette Canyon, the ghost town of Midnight Meadows, and an old Spanish mine, in addition to spectacular views.
--Goose Lake is the highest natural hidden lake in New Mexico at 11,630 feet. We'll cross the Red River and wind our way up to the lake with some historic stops along the way. At the top, you'll have a chance to walk around a little and explore the beautiful area.
--Old Pass is the original road into Red River with seven switchbacks along the way. At the top you'll have a fantastic view of Red River and the surrounding mountains. We then pass through Foster Park on our way to Pioneer Canyon. This canyon is studded with mines and offers a great look through the past.
--Cabresto Lake is a lovely lake at about 9,500 feet. On the way, we pass through Mallette Canyon and Sawmill Pass and see a gorgeous view of Colorado. You'll also stop at the old Spanish Mine. Cabresto offers chances to fish or walk around the lake. The 6-hour Valle Vidal tour offers a unique way to experience the beautiful Valle Vidal area of the Carson National Forest north of Red River. This area has been called the "Yellowstone of the Southwest" for its abundance of wildlife and broad, sweeping meadows. This tour includes a full lunch, snacks and drinks for the day. Please call for details. Whitewater rafting is done every day all summer. We have rides appropriate for 5 years old and under, 6 and under, and 12 and over. All the rafting is on the Rio Grande and offers magnificent views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The full day, 6-hour runs offered are the Taos Box, Lower Gorge, and the Mid Box (funyaks only). We also book the 3-hour half day Racecourse. Please call for times and details. Horseback rides take you on trails at the ski area, offering beautiful views of town and the surrounding mountains, or on other trails in the area with an experienced and knowledgeable guide. We have 1, 2, 3, or 4-8 hour tours. The 4-hour tour includes lunch at the top of the ski area. Riders 6 and older get their own horse and children 5 and under may ride with mom or dad. Helmets are available. 1-hour rides usually leave at 9 am, 10:30 am, 1 pm, 2:30 pm, and 4 pm. Guided four wheeler (ATV) tours offer a chance for excitement and fun seeing beautiful views in the Red River area. Tours last 2 hours and drivers must be at least 18 with a driver's license. Tours usually depart at 9 am, 11:30 am, and 2 pm, but please call for times and details. Guided fly fishing offers a chance for anyone, beginner to expert, to improve your fly fishing skills. Experienced guides provide all tackle and transportation including fly rods and waders. 2-person minimum 3-hour and 6-hour trips are available beginning at 9 am. Half days are also available at 2 pm. A fishing license is required. At a Cowboy Evening, enjoy a delicious 16 oz ribeye or grilled chicken dinner, complete with homemade biscuits, corn on the cob, cowboy beans and cinnamon rolls! You'll be entertained by live musicians, cowboy poetry and more. We also rent strollers, baby carriers (baby backpacks), and wheelchairs to aid accessibility walking around the beautiful town of Red River.
