Dignity Health IRONMAN 70.3 Northern California returns to Redding, California!

We're excited to move this epic race to spring and once again welcome thousands of athletes from all over the world to come swim in the pristine waters of Whiskeytown Lake, bike through the scenic hills of Shasta County, and run along the Sacramento River Trail and across the iconic Sundial Bridge to finish in the heart of Redding.

Fly Fest 2026 is coming to Redding, CA - September 24-26

In a few short weeks, Redding will be welcoming Fly Fest, hosted by Fly Fishers International and presented by The Fly Shop.

This event will be located at the Redding Civic Auditorium and is open to every kind of angler, from beginner to lifelong expert.

The 2026 IRONMAN 70.3 Northern California presented by Dignity Health is officially in the history books!

Thousands of athletes, friends, and families traveled from around the world to take on California’s newest IRONMAN 70.3 course. Throughout race week, visitors experienced Redding’s welcoming spirit firsthand when checking into hotels, dining at restaurants, shopping in our stores, and enjoying all the places that bring our community together.

On race day, residents lined the course to cheer on athletes, creating an electrifying atmosphere that competitors said reflected the exceptional encouragement and hospitality of the Redding community.

The event also reinforced the promise of sports tourism for our region. By welcoming athletes and their families with open arms, Redding has become top of mind for many visitors who are eager to return, train, and explore more of our beautiful region.

As a city, we had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase why we are proud to call this place home: our natural beauty, strong sense of community, and proven ability to safely and successfully host world-class events.

Thank you to every athlete, volunteer, spectator, partner, business, resident, and public-safety professional who helped make IRONMAN 70.3 Northern California presented by Dignity Health a success.

Kicked off race weekend & celebrated the inaugural year of like only IRONMAN could 🎉🍻🥁✂️

The Start Line Social presented by Redding Rancheria was the perfect way to celebrate our first year in Redding. A greeting from the Mayor, a presentation from Redding Rancheria’s own men’s talking circle: No Topic is Taboo, a traditional Native American prayer & blessing for the athletes + race, and a ribbon cutting ceremony!
