Nick Robles, a Brooklyn based artist, is dedicated to making quality limited edition objects while keeping a childlike curiosity for adventure and a playful view of life. Constantly experimenting with new techniques and materials, Nick employs a variety of mediums to create his very original work. Nick’s hand-dyed printed textiles, prints, drawings and photography reflect his world travels and his interest in integrating new processes into his work. A three week visit to Africa this fall appears in his most recent Technicolor Dino photographs and will surely impact other work to come.

Anna Robles is a ceramic artist who lives and works in Redlands. Anna’s functional and decorative ceramic pieces are strongly influenced by her interest in Mexican folk art and the many plant forms in the garden outside her home studio. Anna uses terracotta clay to hand-build elements and slip-cast organic forms to create uniquely decorated utilitarian pieces. Using low-fire, food safe slips and glazes, Anna intricately decorates each platter, bowl or vase with patterns of brightly colored forms inspired by the folk art she loves and the world around her.

For 30 years Mary Grinyer has worked in various mediums leading to a passion for ceramics, mixed media, jewelry and printmaking. She loves to experiment with textures, shapes, and colors. Many of the same tools are used to create texture in clay and prints. In printmaking the heart and the interweaving of people, the web of life has been a major theme. Now, in ceramics, the practical use of art in the form of bowls, vases, and bottles is dominant although she is now studying sculpture in clay. The subtle variances in color add to the shape of the clay. The glazes lead to unexpected results just as the pressure of the press can alter a print and add to the art form. This surprise effect is part of the fascination for her in printing and ceramics.
