Closing Time Story! My buyer client was a referral from one of my clients I helped get their home three years ago in RPV. Throughout the years I keep in touch with all my clients after we close as I consider them friends and I certainly like to keep up to date on what’s happening in their lives. It is a huge compliment when my clients send family and friends to me because it’s validation that they trust me to do right by their friends and loved ones. When I talked with Joe, he didn’t really know what he wanted in a home, but he certainly knew how much he wanted to spend and that he wanted to buy a property that had good value. So I ran a list of properties that were SFRs, townhouses, condos, and duplexes, fixers, cosmetic fixers, move in ready, and turnkey. We met at our first property and walked it. It was a SFR that needed work. Joe wanted to be in an area that was near some restaurants, parks, Hermosa/Redondo/Old Torrance nightlife scene. This was not it. Joe really didn’t know the area and I had 15 places to show him, so I told him to get in my car and let’s check these places out and I will give him the straight scoop of where I would be if I were buying my first home and I was single, good looking, intelligent, social, gainfully employed, etc(ladies DM me). Amazing how much you get to know someone when you are in the car with them. I could tell Joe liked to analyze things and is very well thought out. I like that as I knew he would not be making rash decisions. That said, I told him from the beginning to trust his “gut”. Joe looked at me a little strange, but I explained to him that it doesn’t matter how the numbers line up at the end of the day…it either works or it doesn’t, but when your “gut” tells you it’s right…listen because it’s normally right. That’s a tough concept for some who want to analyze the hell out of everything and you just can’t do that with every aspect of home buying. I think we tend to forget the joy is the biggest part of enJOYing your home. Well Joe and I saw 15 properties in two days and Joe offered on the property that we didn’t get at first but it came back around a week later and we are closing today. I am really happy for Joe. I got a great opportunity to really get to know Joe as a person and he is incredibly bright and funny and has an incredible backstory as a human being. It really makes me appreciate my job all the more when I can help people like Joe accomplish life goals, but I get the extra bonus of having a new friend in my life as well. Thank you to my clients and friends Matt and Myley for the referral and thank you Joe for trusting me and your “gut”!
