Our 2nd day in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee started with a lunch downtown where some chose Corky's for some southern BBQ before a scenic drive through Gatlinburg before heading into Smoky Mountain National Park. For some travelers it was their very first National Park visit! We took our group photo at Newfound Gap with some time for exploring this area where the Appalachian trail crosses. We stood on the North Carolina / Tennessee line and just enjoyed the awe inspiring view we had. We then spent some time at the Sugarlands Visitor Center, did some shopping, saw a short film about the Park and viewed the exhibits. The weather has been so beautiful, we have been truly blessed. We then drove back into Pigeon Forge for the Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Feud, where we cheered for our cousins the Hatfield's while feasting on delicious southern comfort food. We ended the evening with a fantastic performance at Country Tonight. So much great country music, we heard so many of our favorites. After the show the travelers even got to meet the performers, which was a nice surprise for them. Back to the hotel for some needed rest before our big day tomorrow! They are all having such a great trip!
