Lake Tahoe's forest is unhealthy according to the USFS because of logging and lack of fires to name a few. One of the solutions is to send families out into the wilderness to cut Christmas Trees. Tahoe Eco Tours took an army of kids out to do just that. Check out their adventure:

Lake Tahoe is often likened to Lake Baikal. But unlike Lake Tahoe, Baikal freezes over. This is a massive lake and when a lake this size freezes, it is stunning. Here is an amazing video of what it is like:
