Looks like no changes, status quo, for Striped Bass Regs for 2026 up and down the Atlantic Coast. Not sure what NYDEC is going to want to do if their YOY survey tanks again this year, but without the ASMFC breathing down DEC's neck...no changes for the Hudson either.

Recieved this email just this morning looks like we’re gonna be tagged to reduce our take by 12% - how we are going to get there is unknown as of yet – a Public Hearing with DEC at New Paltz is tentatively scheduled for September 22 – I will confirm as soon as it’s fixed – it’s really important that we get as many people to this meeting as possible.
While we get a partial exemption, being recognized as a unique fishery, the estuarian portion of the Hudson (above GWB) will have to sync with some components of new regulations for NYS saltwater – this could be really unfair – that is why we need to be there – some of the things being talked about
1) Seasonal closures – minimum two weeks – if we have to take 2 weeks out of our 6 week season – it’s gonna SUCK!
2)No targeting – i.e. no trips focusing specifically on stripers – looks like we’re gonna be doing a lot of fishing for channel cats
We are going to have to give up something, so put you thinking caps on and be open to suggestions
We of course will be attending the meeting so if you are unable to go shoot me a message with your thoughts and opinions and we'll make sure your voice is heard)
