If you saw our post yesterday, there was an upside-down pot that was discovered almost completely intact at the Roman archaeological site in Carlisle, England.

It's a mortarium!. This is a bowl the Romans used for grinding, pounding, or mixing foods, essentially serving as a heavy-duty kitchen mortar with the spout for pouring it out.
