🛟 Welcome Beautiful Classic M/V CREE to Schenectady Yacht Club! ⚓

Yesterday, Dockmaster Linda welcomed the AGLCA crew of M/V CREE to the shores of the Mighty Mohawk.

CREE is truly a floating work of art. Built in Oakdale, New York, she was launched on July 29, 1973, and is beautifully constructed of mahogany planking over white oak frames. Since purchasing her in 2017, her owners have devoted nearly a decade to a remarkable restoration, preserving her classic beauty while thoughtfully modernizing her for extended cruising.

One of the Admiral's favorite improvements was the creation of a true chef's galley, making life aboard as enjoyable as the journey itself. Along with extensive structural restoration, updated electronics, and countless other enhancements, CREE is a wonderful example of craftsmanship and dedication.

During their stay, the crew plans to enjoy everything Schenectady Yacht Club has to offer while visiting friends in Saratoga Springs and relaxing before continuing their Great Loop adventure.

For 86 years, Schenectady Yacht Club has proudly welcomed transient boaters to the historic Erie Canal and the Mighty Mohawk. It is always an honor to share our waterfront with remarkable vessels, but it's especially rewarding when one carries so much history and has been lovingly preserved for future generations.

Welcome to Schenectady Yacht Club, M/V CREE! We hope you enjoy your stay with us and create many wonderful memories while you're here. 🛟🚤🌳⚓🇺🇸

🛟 Another Pair of Loopers Find Safe Harbor on the Mighty Mohawk! ⚓

Yesterday afternoon, Dockmaster Justin assisted two AGLCA member crews as they chose the shores of Schenectady Yacht Club for an evening's rest after completing the historic Waterford Flight of Five.

We were pleased to welcome M/V Wombat and Gold Looper M/V MorningStar to our docks as they continued their westbound journeys along the Erie Canal.

Whether it's a relaxing evening beneath our shaded trees, a refreshing swim in the pool, hot showers, laundry facilities, fuel and pump-out services, or simply the fellowship of fellow boaters, our members take pride in making every visiting crew feel at home.

For 86 years, Schenectady Yacht Club has welcomed transient boaters navigating the Mighty Mohawk and the historic Erie Canal. As a proud sponsor of the American Great Loop Cruisers Association, we continue to offer 10% off overnight dockage for AGLCA members and complimentary first-night dockage to reciprocating Mohawk-Hudson Council of Yacht Clubs members.

To the crews of Wombat and MorningStar, thank you for spending part of your journey with us. We wish you fair winds, clear channels, and open doors as your adventures continue westward. 🧭🚤⚓

🛟 Another Wonderful Evening Welcoming Transient Boaters to the Shores of the Mighty Mohawk! ⚓

Three more visiting crews chose Schenectady Yacht Club as their port of call last evening.

Dockmaster Linda, together with Harbor Host Skipper Jack, first welcomed westbound AGLCA members aboard M/V Miller Time, a beautiful Kadey-Krogen 44AE. The crew is making its way west as they continue their Great Loop adventure, and we were honored they chose Schenectady Yacht Club as one of their stops along the historic Erie Canal.

Next came M/V Coventina, whose crew are members of our sister club, Catskill Yacht Club, and fellow members of the Mohawk-Hudson Council of Yacht Clubs. It is always a pleasure to welcome familiar faces. This summer they are cruising west to Lake Erie before turning around and making the return voyage home later in the season.

Rounding out the evening was returning AGLCA member M/V New Chapter. We first welcomed her earlier this season while she was westbound. Having completed a wonderful cruise on the Great Lakes, the crew is now returning eastbound to Waterford, then south on the Hudson River to New York City, where the vessel will undergo scheduled service before the crew flies home to Texas.

For 86 years, the members of Schenectady Yacht Club have taken pride in welcoming transient boaters navigating the Mighty Mohawk and the historic Erie Canal. As our nation celebrates its 250th birthday, we are honored to continue that tradition of hospitality, friendship, and service to the boating community.

Whether you're an AGLCA member, a reciprocating yacht club member, or simply cruising New York's waterways, you'll always find a warm welcome waiting at Schenectady Yacht Club. 🛟🚤🧭🇺🇸

Yesterday afternoon, Dockmaster Linda welcomed AGLCA member M/V Osprey Moon, who joined fellow Looper M/V Latitude Adjustment at our fuel ⛽ dock.

Then, as the sun set over the Mohawk, many Schenectady Yacht Club members came together to assist the crews of three vessels from our sister club, Crescent Boat Club, safely to their docks for the evening.

For many years, Schenectady Yacht Club has proudly considered Crescent Boat Club one of our closest sister clubs and fellow members of the Mohawk-Hudson Council of Yacht Clubs. The friendships shared between our clubs continue to strengthen the boating community throughout our region.

📣 A reminder to all Mohawk-Hudson Council of Yacht Clubs members: As a reciprocating club, your first overnight stay of each boating season at Schenectady Yacht Club is complimentary!

🛟 We also continue to proudly support the American Great Loop Cruisers Association, offering 10% off overnight dockage for all AGLCA members.

Whether you're a Looper, a reciprocating yacht club member, or simply cruising the beautiful waters of the Mohawk Valley, we invite you to stop by, enjoy our hospitality, and experience 86 years of welcoming transient boaters.

We hope everyone is enjoying this spectacular weekend on the water. Stay safe, enjoy the sunshine, and we'll see you at the docks! ☀️⚓🧭🚤

Dockmaster Linda was delighted to welcome S/V Wagstaf—staffed by the capable crew member Puda 🐾—along with AGLCA member M/V Caballito, as they arrived safely at the Schenectady Yacht Club yesterday.

🇳🇱 Welcome to the Schenectady Yacht Club, M/V Parnassia! ⚓

Today we are pleased to welcome the beautiful Dutch motor yacht Parnassia as our evening guest here at the Schenectady Yacht Club!

With her classic lines and elegant styling, Parnassia is a true head-turner as she cruises the historic Erie Canal. Originally inspired by the traditional Dutch "Luxe Motor" barges that have traveled the waterways of the Netherlands for generations, she brings a touch of European maritime heritage to the Mohawk River.

We hope the captain and crew enjoy a relaxing evening at our club while taking advantage of our hospitality, pool, showers, laundry facilities, and the peaceful surroundings along the historic Erie Canal.

Safe travels as you continue your adventure through New York's magnificent canal system. Thank you for choosing the Schenectady Yacht Club as one of your ports of call!
