🇫🇷 Bastille Day: A Revolution Remembered 🇫🇷

In July of 1789, the storming of the Bastille marked a turning point in the French Revolution—a bold symbol of resistance against tyranny.

While the French and American revolutions shared a desire for liberty, they followed very different paths. One rooted in Enlightenment ideals and upheaval, the other shaped by structured debate and enduring principles.

In a powerful gesture of friendship, the Marquis de Lafayette sent the original key to the Bastille to George Washington—where it still hangs today at Mount Vernon. A reminder of shared ideals, global struggles for freedom, and the enduring ties between nations.
