We got permission from the FS to head up the mountain. We’re happy to report Spinal Tap survived, and we’re grateful. But that’s not the headline. Two helicopter pilots lost their lives protecting this mountain, and our community owes them and every firefighter who fought this fire more than we can say. If you guys see any of these firefighters, give them a thank you.

The fire has been tragic. We’re eternally grateful for the wildland firefighters and helicopter pilots who gave their all fighting this beast. We feel extremely lucky that our trails made it out unscathed, and we hope to be back up and running as soon as we get the go-ahead! Hoping to get some rain soon too. We’re starting to see days booked up in October so go in a book those killer October days now!

The Widemouth fire grew a lot over night. The winds have been blowing hard and are pushing the fire east up the Pahvant towards Richfield. The purple dot on the map is the Spinal Tap Trailhead. We’re watching this closely and praying for the best. Very grateful for the Forest fire crews and everything they’re doing!
