The amount of work I get done from my car is actually ridiculous. 😂 But also… why is it somehow my favorite place to get things done?! 🤪

Currently working on a million little things behind the scenes at Bowery to get everything ready for 2027 reservations to open in just a few weeks!

🏕️ BIG CHANGES COMING NEXT SEASON! 🚐🎉

We’ve been busy making a few changes around the campground the last few years, and now we’ve decided to renumber ALL of our RV sites!

Let’s be honest… our old numbering system didn’t always make a whole lot of sense. 😂 So we decided it was time to fix that!

The new layout will make it much easier for everyone to find their sites, navigate the campground, and know exactly where they’re going. Less confusion, fewer wrong turns, and hopefully a much smoother experience for everyone!

Here’s the important part! 👀

If you’re a returning guest who loves booking the same spot every year, PLEASE double-check your site when making your reservation! Your favorite spot is still there, but it likely has a different number now.

Be sure to look at the updated campground map when booking so you get the spot you actually want!

We’re excited about this change and think it’s going to make things a whole lot easier for everyone!

And don’t worry, we’ll probably be just as confused as you are for the first little while! 🤣

Poor little fellow. Talk about giving EVERYTHING for the next generation! 😂🐟

Every fall, Kokanee salmon put on one of nature’s most fascinating (and slightly depressing) performances.

For most of their lives, these fish are silver, swimming around Fish Lake without a care in the world. But when spawning season arrives, everything changes!

They turn brilliant shades of red, the males develop hooked jaws and hu**ed backs, and suddenly their main priority is reproducing.

Some Kokanee swim up Twin Creeks, while others spawn along gravelly lake bottoms. The females dig nests in the gravel, deposit their eggs, and the males fertilize them.

And after all that effort? They die. BOTH OF THEM. 💀

It’s not an accident or a cruel twist of fate. Kokanee naturally reproduce only once in their lifetime, typically around 3–4 years old, and die shortly afterward.

But there’s a purpose to this dramatic ending! Their decomposing bodies return nutrients to the ecosystem, supporting other aquatic life and future generations.

So the next time you feel like you’ve given absolutely everything to your kids, just remember the Kokanee salmon. They’ve taken parental sacrifice to a WHOLE new level. 🤣
